In due course, books will also be made available in smaller towns of the Municipal areas. Any community member who needs information can contact the Mayor's or Municipal Manager's Office of the Local Municipality concerned.

“As the Cacadu District Municipality, we encourage communities and stakeholders to express their feelings in writing to convey how we honour the father of our nation, Tata Madiba. The intention is to collect all the condolence books and bind it into one commemorative book that will be kept at the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory,” said the Municipal Manager of the Cacadu District Municipality, Ted Pillay.

The Municipal Manager also urged the public to join the Cacadu District Municipality in mourning on the 10th December (National Memorial Service) and 15th of December (Funeral) at the various public mourning sites in the District, namely Miki Yili Stadium in Grahamstown, in the Makana Local Municipality, and the Somerset East Youth Centre in Blue Crane Route Local Municipality. The Provincial Memorial Service will be held at the Nelson Mandela Stadium, Port Elizabeth, on 13 December 2013.
