Index Cacadu triumphant for 2nd year in a row at VUNA Awards

The Cacadu District Municipality emerged triumphant for the 2nd year in a row at the VUNA awards ceremony, held at the Boardwalk Convention Centre in Port Elizabeth on 19 February 2014.

Executive  Mayor, Khunjuzwa Eunice Kekana, for the 2nd year in a row, received the award for being the "Best Municipal Mayor" in the Eastern Cape Province. The Cacadu District Municipality also received an award for attaining an Unqualified Audit Opinion for the seventh consecutive year.  


Futher afield in the District, the Baviaans Local Municipality received a trophy for being the Best Local Municipality as well as a financial reward related to Key Performance Area 3, namely, Local Economic Development.


"It is an extreme honour for the Cacadu District Municipality to be recognized for its efforts in striving for better administration and governance. In addition, we are extremely proud of our Executive Mayor for once again receiving this sought after accolade," said the Municipal Manager, Ted Pillay.
