Speaker addresses District stakeholders in Kirkwood

On the 12th of February 2013, the Speaker of the Cacadu District Municipality, Cllr Deon de Vos, hosted a stakeholder session at the Kirkwood Correctional Services Centre. Present at the session was stakeholders from 7 of the 9 local municipalities located within the Cacadu District. Among the issues addressed by the Speaker was the changing of the name of the Cacadu District Municipality to Sarah Baartman District Municipality and the establishment of the Cacadu Development Agency. During the session, the Speaker urged all stakeholders to voice their opinions regarding a number of issues stipulated by the African Peer Review Mechanism. The issues noted by stakeholders were recorded during the meeting and a report will be compiled for review at the Provincial event taking place on 20 February in East London. The Cacadu District will be represented by, amongst others, 24 stakeholders from the communities of the District.
