16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children Kicks Off in Graaff-Reinet

Today, the Sarah Baartman District Municipality in partnership with Dr Beyers Naude Municipality, SAPS and the Department of Education visited two schools — Thembalesizwe Primary School and Lingcom Primary School in Graaff-Reinet — as part of government's ongoing commitment to promoting child safety, anti-bullying awareness, and GBV education.
Constable Leonard, who serves as the SAPS GBV coordinator, engaged learners on the importance of staying alert, protecting themselves, and reporting any form of violence or inappropriate behaviour.
The Department of Education delivered an impactful session on Learner Support with a strong focus on bullying.
Types of Bullying Addressed:
Learners were reminded that bullying harms confidence and emotional wellbeing.
SBDM also handed over gardening implements to each school for their school gardens.
