World TB Day Commemorated in Ravinia

The event took place in Ravinia, a small settlement in Koukamma Municipality. Ravinia is the area with the highest incidents of TB infection in the district. Executive Mayor, Deon De Vos, encouraged community members to complete their TB treatment and to get tested. There were mobile TB screening and testing available at the event, as well as services from the Department of Home Affairs and Love Life. The Department of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform distributed some items for food gardening while Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism shared information on the importance of a clean environment in helping to reduce the spread of TB.
