Promotion of Oceans Economy Prioritised

SALGA presented on the Ocean Economy Localisation Programme and highlighted the support provided to local municipalities and the district to enhance local government readiness and participation in ocean-based opportunities.

 

A diverse group of stakeholders attended the workshop, including representatives from the agriculture sector, education institutions, ECDC, and SAIMI, who shared their initiatives and outlined the support and opportunities available to municipalities. Local municipalities also engaged by sharing their challenges, insights, and priorities, contributing to discussions on sustainable growth.

 

Sarah Baartman District Municipality presented the district’s strategic plans aligned to the ocean economy, reinforcing a collaborative approach towards unlocking economic potential, skills development, and inclusive growth in our coastal communities.
